Wholesome Hygiene Program
Hygiene is an essential part of a person's overall well-being and cleanliness. Not having adequate to hygiene items can negatively impact a person's health, mental health, self-esteem, and may create employment disadvantages.
The goal and mission of the Wholesome Hygiene Program is to provide basic hygiene items to individuals and families who do not have access to or cannot afford these items.
Our hygiene closet is stocked with a variety of essential personal care items, including:
body care (soap, body wash, deodorant, lotion)
hair care (shampoo, conditioner, brushes, combs)
dental hygiene (toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash)
feminine hygiene (pads, tampons, pantyliners)
Availability of specific items may vary based on donations and inventory.

Program requirement: Once your application has been processed, participants are expected to attend at least two YWCA Lincoln events each year. These events provide opportunities to connect with community resources, learn about additional programs and services, and engage with others in a welcoming environment. Information about upcoming events will be shared with enrolled participants.
If you have additional questions about the Wholesome Hygiene Program or would like to donate, please contact Allison Dancy, Director of Family and Community Engagement, at allison@ywcalincoln.org.
Donations of new, unopened hygiene products are always appreciated and help us keep our shelves stocked for community members in need.
To make donating even easier, you can purchase much-needed items directly from our Amazon Wishlist. Thank you for your generous donation to supporting our mission!
