Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration to commemorate the end of the slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union Soldiers landed in Galveston, TX, with the news that the Civil War had ended and all slaves were now free - two and a half years after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. All 50 states and several other countries now hold annual Juneteenth celebrations.

Attendees will enjoy music, a health and human service resource fair, kids' corner activities and more - all free to the public.
